Bishop T. Cedric Brown is a native North Carolinian. At a young age, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He received his initial spiritual training at Pelt Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church. He acknowledged his call to the preaching ministry in 1988 and in May 1998 received his first ministerial license in The Mt. Calvary Holy Church of America, Inc. One year later, he was ordained an Elder.
In 1986, Bishop Brown received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering from North Carolina A & T State University. In May 2001, he received a Master of Arts degree in Counseling and Human Services from Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia. In May 2008, he earned a Doctor of Ministry degree from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio with a concentration in Leadership Development and Organization Dynamics.
Over the past twenty years he has been blessed to serve under the dynamic leadership of Bishop Alfred and Co-Pastor Susie Owens. Bishop Brown has faithfully served the congregation of Greater Mount Calvary Holy Church (GMCHC), a progressive, inner-city church with an adult membership of more than 7,000. In recognition of his loyalty and diligence to the work of the ministry, in 2000, he was appointed as the Associate Pastor. He is responsible for providing oversight to the 61+ church ministries and directors.
Bishop Brown is a gifted teacher who, along with his wife, Rev. Bobette Brown, teaches a mid-week bible study. He also serves as an instructor for Calvary Bible Institute, an accredited Bible school that provides Christian education and preparation for persons desiring to effectively function in the Body of Christ. Further, he serves as the Director of the Men’s Ministry. In March 2008, he was honored to be appointed Dean of the Adjutant’s Academy of the Joint College of African-American Pentecostal Bishops. Bishop Brown was consecrated a Bishop in the Lord’s Church during the Annual Holy Convocation of the Mt. Calvary Holy Church of America, Inc. in August 2008. Two years later he was elevated to the office of Second Vice-Bishop of the organization. In 2012, Bishop Brown was honored to be appointed the Jurisdictional Bishop over the state of Florida.
He has been serving in full-time ministry since 1994. He began his career with GMCHC as the Administrative Assistant to the Senior Pastor. However, through his dedication and outstanding work performance, he was promoted to an executive managerial position. In this capacity, he oversees the directors for the external entities of GMCHC. His area of oversight includes: the GMC Bookstore; Calvary’s Alternative to Alcohol and Drug Addiction Center; the Bishop Alfred A. Owens, Jr. Family Life Community Center; and, Calvary Bible Institute.
Bishop Brown’s partner in marriage and ministry is his wife, Rev. Bobette D. Greene Brown. They are the proud parents of two sons – Joshua and Caleb.
